DR CHRISTOPHER FAY CBE
Dr Fay was educated at the University of Leeds (BSc Civil Engineering, PhD).
His career started with Royal Dutch/Shell Group: joined 1970, various appointments in Holland, Nigeria, Malaysia and Scandinavia 1971-78; Development Manager Dansk Undergrunds Consortium Copenhagen 1978-81; Technical Manager Norske Shell Exploration and Production Stavanger Norway 1981-84; Director of Exploration and Production Norway 1984-86; General Manager and Chief Executive Shell Cos, Turkey 1986-89, Managing Director Shell UK Exploration and Production and MD Shell UK Ltd 1989-93; Chairman and Chief Executive Shell UK Ltd 1993-98.
He was President of the UK Offshore Operators' Association in 1992; FICE 1994 (MICE 1973), FIInstPet 1994, FRSE 1996, FREng 1996, Hon FICE 1998.
His recreations include gardening, ski-ing, golf and tennis.
Dr Chris Fay is currently the non-executive director of BAA plc since 1998, Anglo-American plc since 1999 and STENA International also since 1999.
He is also currently the non-executive Chairman of EXPRO International Group since 1999 and Chairman Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment since 1999.
