DR BRIAN HOPE MBCHB, MRCGP, DipRCOG

Brian Hope’s stories are based around a ramble through his medical career and his experiences as a GP in Cornwall, Lytham St Annes and Salford.

He was born in Bolton in 1958, the youngest son of Edna and Les Hope - well-known socialites on the local Methodist whist drive circuit.

He survived a diet of fryups, plate pies and Heinz sponge puddings, and was educated at primary school in Salford where the school’s alumni consisted of anyone who did not end up in Borstal.

He then moved on to grammar school and thence to university where he studied alcohol and female anatomy for five years at Dundee Medical School.

He returned to his native North West to provide care to the downtrodden and needy and now runs his own practice on the sunny banks of the Manchester Ship Canal.
