ERIC JONES

One of the North's outstanding after dinner speakers, Eric came to the circuit in traditional style being spotted by a well-known agent.

Well respected by fellow speakers and comedians it is they who pressed him to extend his talents and go further afield.

Now his brilliant wit and humour are in demand at dinners all round the country.

Following his army service, Eric joined the Manchester police, retiring as a Detective Superintendent in 1980 after 27 years' service - obviously a comedian by then.

By the virtue of that occupation, he is the possessor of a rich vein of stories with which to entertain both all-male and mixed audiences.

A keen sportsman, he was once the secretary of Wigan Athletic F.C. but thankfully that is not held against him.

The expertise he has gained in his two previous careers, he now brings to the after dinner circuit.
