JACQUELINE DE BAER

Jacqueline de Baer has long been considered on of Britain's most dynamic businesswomen.
Nominated for the 2001 Business Women of the Year award by Virginia Bottomley MP, who endorsed her as an inspiration for entrepreneurial women, Jacqueline de Baer's dynamic profile and original views make for regular comment in national newspapers and leading business titles.
As founder and chief executive of de Baer Plc, Jacqueline has grown her corporate clothing company from a one-man band in 1984 to a company with international supply capabilities which is able to roll out 10,000 garments a day.
Jacqueline's design-led and innovative approach has also helped to transform the image of corporate clothing.
With her guidance, de Baers leads its industry, using pioneering collections to build brands and enhance staff morale. de Baer's designs - from fluid tailoring to fitted fleeces - can be seen on some of the UK's best dressed staff and a string of blue chip clients, including the Whitbread Hotel Company and Merrill Lynch HSBC, have benefited from her expertise.
De Baer the company reflects Jacqueline's beliefs in honesty and integrity. An open-information environment with a flat-management structure, it empowers staff to take responsibility and make decisions.
This has resulted in commercial advantages. The success of the business has been endorsed by a regular stream of honours, including the prestigious "Women mean Business" award, presented to Jacqueline for her business acumen and outstanding contribution to corporate clothing.
A sought after commentator on radio and television, Jacqueline's most recent high profile appearance was speaking at the Work-Life Balance Week chaired by Shirley Conran.
