JEFFREY ROBINSON


Jeffrey Robinson is the international best selling American author of l5 books. A native New Yorker who has been living in Europe for 25 years, his well-known work includes The Laundrymen, a shocking investigative look at the world of money laundering and international drug trafficking; The Risk Takers, the money, ego and power of Britain's high-flying entrepreneurs; The End of the American Century, which brought to light the hidden agendas of the cold war; and The Margin of the Bulls, his third novel, in which he uses thinly disguised fiction to tell stories of wheeling and dealing in the City that the libel laws would not permit him to tell in The Risk Takers.

He has also written three highly acclaimed biographies; Yamani - The Inside Story, of Saudi Arabia's former oil minister; Rainier Grace and Bardot-Two Lives.

After graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia, Robinson spent four years as an officer in the US Air Force before taking up residence at the end of l970, in a small village in the South of France. Using that as his base, he vagabonded around the world, writing articles and short stories for leading American magazines. In l982 with more than 600 published credits to his name, he moved to London to concentrate on writing books.

His latest book, to be published in Autumn l996 is The Hotel - subtitled "Inside A Secret World" - for which he spent five months backstage at one of the world's greatest hotels.

A frequent guest on television and radio talk shows on both sides of the Atlantic - he also hosted the BBC TV version of The Laundrymen - Robinson is in much demand as both an entertaining and motivational speaker and is the former winner of the coveted Benedictine After Dinner Speaker of the Year Award.
