Jonathan Ross

A multi award-winning TV and radio presenter, Jonathan has rarely been off our screens.

Jonathan hosts the BBC One chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, and Film 2006, the BBC’s long-running cinema review programme. In March 2006 he co-hosted an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. 

He made a series on BBC Three called Japanorama, and also produced, through his production company Hot Sauce, another series for BBC Three called Adam and Joe Go Tokyo. His most recent series was Jonathan Ross’ Asian Invasion, broadcast on BBC Four in January 2006. the three-part documentary followed Ross as he explored the film industry in Japan, Hong Kong and Korea, interviewing directors and showcasing clips.


In May 2006 and May 2006 Jonathan won another BAFTA in the Entertainment Performance category for his show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.


Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, hit the small screens in 2001, a 40-minute show - which has regularly returned to the small screen each autumn - big name guests have included Paul McCartney, Elton John, Liza Minelli and Jack Dee. Acoustic performances from top musical artists included Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Stereophonics. 

In 2002, Jonathan was nominated Top Television Comedy Personality at the 2002 British Comedy Awards. 

Jonathan also fulfilled a dream - to interview one of his all-time heroes, David Bowie. Friday Night with Ross and Bowie - a one-off special for BBC1 - saw Bowie performing three live numbers with his band including the '70s classic, Ziggy Stardust. 

2002 also saw Jonathan in fine form in They Think it's All Over and Film 2002.

In 2005 Jonathan was made on Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honors for services to broadcasting.
