JULIAN BRAY
MIPR MMC MBII
A hit with senior corporate convention audiences, in the UK Europe and the USA, a light comedy touch in his investigative style of interviewing teases out the information from even the most reluctant or sensitive interviewees.
Lighter speeches tinged with humour and dry wit help punch essential messages home in a compelling and lasting way.
Julian Bray has throughout his career barged into the rich and famous, the notorious and met some high profile despots.
He once called General IDI AMIN DADA bonkers - and that was to his face! Julian has re-shaped the branding, marketing, corporate PR and internal communications of major Institutions, leading multi-nationals and two airlines.
He is well versed in Knowledge based New Media, and digital convergence technologies; gained initially by working on the Government UK National Information Technology Strategy.
He played a pivotal role in the establishment of UK cable television particularly the switched star radial system technology, using Milton Keynes as a living IT workshop.
For the DTI and European Commission, he authored a major research project questioning the role of D-MAC HDTV (European wide screen television), the results, widely reported, caused a seachange in Government/EC thinking and the eventual scrapping of the project saving the taxpayers throughout Europe many millions…
In co-partnership with HTV Group PLC, as a main board director, he designed the corporate, marketing and business model and strategy for NTN Television News, a custom vehicle for the then new BSB satellite news provider, the blueprint for SKY News. A former senior Fleet Street/Reuters journalist and seasoned BBC broadcaster, he has extensive experience of both radio and television management and production.
He has coached many leading business personalities and politicians. He is the managing editor of CNS-City News Service, the City and financial services news wire founded by him over a decade ago. He uniquely combines his City and Corporate activities with his other passion Real Cask Ales (and the preservation of the English Rural Pub) where he is managing director of a pub operating company and an elected Regional Councillor for the professional body: The British Institute of
Innkeeping.
