Mike Cowan has played sport and sold commercially at the highest level. He has achieved success in both highly-competitive worlds.

Mike was a fast bowler for nine years with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, sharing the opening attack with the legendary Fred Trueman. He represented his country on a tour to Pakistan.

On leaving professional sport, he turned to the world of selling. Over a period of 30 years, he represented Horlicks Ltd., Unichem and Penguin Books, where he was responsible for sales in the North of England.

Mike has also been a commentator for Yorkshire Television.

He has been awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship for his services to Rotary.

To achieve success in these careers required the same basic needs: Motivation; Skill; Planning - all coupled with a sense of humour.

His life in the rugged mining area of South Yorkshire and the benefits of having an Irish father, have been instrumental in producing stories and experiences of his life which are a delight when told with his own unique sense of fun.

Companies are finding that with his background, he is the ideal person to wrap up sales conferences and meetings.He has recently spoken at several "Investors in People" seminars.
