Rex links his exciting adventure stories to his depth of knowledge of business to give clear insight and direction for the corporate world, especially on topics such as Teamwork, Leadership and Motivation... "We live in deeds, not years .... " * Rex Warner has inspired, organised, and/or participated in a dozen expeditions. * Received Shell Livewire Award for organising and leading Enterprise Neptune - a two year, 20,000 mile, voyage to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first European rounding of Southern Africa. The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Edinburghs Award International Association, The Royal Geographical Society, and over 100 companies. * Undertook one of the longest raft voyages in history - a 6000 mile, 6 month, voyage across the Pacific aboard a bamboo sailing raft. This expedition, The China Voyage, aimed to investigate how the Chinese sailed to America Z000 years ago, and re-live the experience of sailing such an ancient type of vessel. The expedition attracted considerable press coverage and is the subject of a television documentary filmed by Rex, and an award winning book. * Organised and led The Columbus Challenge, a year-long expedition to follow in the wake of Christopher Columbuss first voyage 500 years earlier. The Columbus Challenge was the only Quincentenary project to follow the exact route and timing of Columbuss original voyage. * Sailed a 75' Chinese Junk in the South China Sea (The Marco Polo voyage). The junk was a replica of the vessel used by Marco Polo to return from China. This project won the prestigious Rolex Award for Enterprise. * Other expeditions have included a 3 month exploration of the West coast of Greenland aboard a steel ketch specially built for polar voyaging; environmental expeditions to the Arctic, and ethnobiological projects in the rainforests of South America. * Professional interests include corporate speaking engagements, writing, photography (photographs published in over 100 newspapers and magazines, including National Geographic and The Times), and filming (news footage has appeared on ITN and CNN; TV documentary produced for international distribution). * Close connections with, and knowledge of, the business world arising from: - Personal interest in investment analysis - successful implementation of investment strategies based on considerable market, sector and company research. - Ongoing sponsorship and marketing opportunities connected with each expedition. * Now developing The World Voyage . . . For the first time in history, a truly global team will come together to accept a single challenge . . . as we enter a new millennium, men and women from all nations will come together to sail an impressive square-rigged sailing ship around the world.
