Richard has a sales and management background in financial services where his focus was on making substantial shifts in the performance of sales teams and new business unit start up, leading to the establishment of one of the biggest processing units at the time in the country. 

He has built two consulting firms from scratch and sold out from the largest one to concentrate on his speaking career. He has successfully delivered consultancy projects in; investment and retail banking, professional services, media, insurance, retailing and higher education.
