SIMEON COURTIE

Simeon Courtie

Famous to a nation of children throughout the mid to late 1990s as the face of Children’s BBC and countless kids shows on ITV, Sim found himself leading a double life. In one he was a daredevil TV presenter jet-setting all over the world, while in the other he was a ‘stay at home’ dad raising 3 young daughters while his wife went to work.

Today he’s a successful TV producer and writer and is the host of the ITV1 late night quiz show “The Mint”. He still juggles kids TV with kids at home. His 11 years in children’s television have involved near fatal rattle snake bites, wrestling alligators and being electrocuted with forty thousand volts.

Not to mention the tarantulas, bungee jumps and bog snorkelling. ‘Entertaining the nation’s kids can be scary’ he admits, ‘but not as scary as having your own!’

ALLIGATORS, SNAKE BITES, NAPPY RASH AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS is Simeon’s hilarious account of maintaining a career in the surprisingly dangerous world of children’s television, whilst also bringing up his own children.

Clean, funny and full of sparkle, his talk appeals to a broad range of people, combining hair-raising anecdotes about life in front of the lens with uproarious observations about raising 3 daughters.

“Thanks so much for a wonderful evening of laughter. Everyone left with a smile on their face!” Chairman, Banbury Townswomen’s Guild
