SOPHIE GRIGSON
Sophie Grigson is one of Britain's best-loved cookery writers and presenters. Sophie, daughter of the legendary food writer Jane Grigson, has followed in her mother's footsteps writing numerous best-selling cookery books and becoming a familiar face on our TV screens.Her previous notable series and books include Eat Your Greens, Sophies Meat Course, Taste of the Times and Sophie Grigson's Herbs. Despite her famous mum and being surrounded by foodies from the year dot, Sophie's early career was spent in pop video production. It wasn't long however before an interest in small ethnic food shops led her to start experimenting in her cooking and writing articles. She has been a regular cookery columnist for London's Evening Standard and The Sunday Times. She lives near Daventry in Northamptonshire with their husband William Black and their two children, Florence and Sidney. Sophie is a natural at teaching cookery in an informal and friendly manner and her first TV series in 1993 Grow Your Greens, Eat Your Greens won the Caroline Walker Prize (Media Category). Sophie has written fourteen books to go with her many TV series for Channel Four and the BBC. She has had regular columns and has written articles for newspapers and magazines, and featured on many radio programmes. Her book Organic was published in 2001. Sophie was also awarded the Guild of Food Writers Cookery Journalist Award in 2001 |
