WILL SELF
Known to television audiences for his appearances on Have I Got News For You, Shooting Stars and Room 101, Will has an acerbic and very witty style of his own.
Will was born in and grew up in London. After pursuing a career as a cartoonist he found immediate success with his first publication, the collection The Quantity Theory of Insanity (1991).
In 1992 he won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. His other books include the collections of short stories; Grey Area and, Tough Tough Toys for Tough Tough Boys; the novellas; Cock & Bull and The Sweet Smell of Psychosis and the novels; My Idea of Fun and Great Apes. His latest novel is How the Dead Live published by Penguin.
In addition to his fiction, Will Self has written for publications ranging from The Idler to Harpers & Queen.
He has also been a restaurant critic and political columnist for The Observer. Penguin published a collection of his journalism, Junk Mail and Feeding Frenzy.
He currently writes for The Independent on Sunday.
